The Marsh
About us
This district forms a triangle bounded by the Place de la Bastille, Place de la République and Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. It has many private mansions from the 17th and 18th centuries, which have been converted into internationally renowned museums (Picasso Paris Museum, Victor Hugo's house, Carnavalet Museum, etc.). A visit to the Place des Vosges is the highlight of a walk in the Marais, a masterpiece of balance and elegance. Rue des Rosiers, the epicentre of the Parisian Jewish community, is also worth a visit for its atmosphere, shops and restaurants. The Marais is full of fashion boutiques, gourmet addresses and even has its own department stores': the BHV Marais! There are countless gay bars, shops and clubs in the Marais, making it the largest gay district in France.
